What to Pack for a North Cyprus Holiday

Congratulations! You have finally decided to spend your next holiday in North Cyprus. Now you are recommended to go through this list before you pack for your holiday.

Personal Items

Your passport and/or your ID should be with you while entering the country (depending on your home country). Please visit Visa Regulations in North Cyprus for more information. You might want to take your driving license with you as well in order to be able to rent a car in North Cyprus.

Clothes Suitable for the Season

June-July-August
As summer is the season with highest temperatures, it should be a good idea to choose lightweight clothing and fabrics to stay cool in the heat. Light color breathable clothes that offer protection are ideal for hot summer days.

September-October-November
In fall, temperatures start to fluctuate, while spending time at the beach or the pool during the day, you might need warmer clothes at night. You might try layering your clothes if you are planning to spend all day out and will have no time to change.  Medium-weight apparel and light woolies could be recommended.

December-January
Although these are the winter months for Cypriots, it can be considered as fall by foreign visitors. Winter clothing is adivsed, but heavy coats are boots are not required.

February
With the possibility of warm days and occasional rain, the weather is unsettled in February. You can feel the spring during the day whereas it can still be quite cool in the evenings. Layering your clothes can again be a good idea in February.

March-April-May
In spring, sunshine is back and you can enjoy pleasantly warm weather. Yet, it can still be slightly chilly in the evenings. Light-Medium weight and summer apparel is advised as well as long-sleeved cotton and light woolies for the evenings.

Comfortable Shoes

You will need comfortable shoes in order to make the most of the island’s natura trails and countless historical sights.

Power Plug Adapters

The standard voltage is 240 V in Cyprus and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Cyprus, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 – 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa). The power sockets in North Cyprus are type G (which is the plug that three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern) and you will need power plug adapters in order to be able to use your electronic devices while in North Cyprus.

 

Prescribed Medication

Although almost all kinds of medication is well available in all pharmacists in North Cyprus, it is always wise to take yours with you in order to save time and avoid any confusion.

Beachwear & Sun Protection

Cyprus has a warm climate and if you are travelling during the months May-October, you are advised to take with you factor suntan cream, a hat and sunglasses. Also, you might consider taking your flip-flops with you in order to use by the pool or at the beach.
