The Museum of Barbarism

Located in the Kumsal district of Nicosia, the Museum of Barbarism is the house of Dr. Nihat Ilhan, a major serving in the Cyprus Turkish Contingent in 1963. His wife and three children were murdered in the bathroom of this house by Greek-Cypriot terrorists during the inter-communal troubles of December that year.

In addition to the heartbreaking exhibits about the family’s murder, there are also similar photos of Turkish Cypriots murdered in the villages of Agios Sozomenos and Agios Vasilios.
