Arapahmet Mosque
Arab Ahmet Mosque, located in the western Arab Ahmet Quarter of North Nicosia, was built in the late 16th century. It is named after a commander of the 1571 Ottoman army and contains the tombs of some important historical people in its courtyard.
A good example of the classical Ottoman architecture, Arap Ahmet Mosque was renovated in 1845. This rectangular mosque is the only mosque in Cyprus to have a typical Turkish dome. A large central dome covers the main body of the mosque and three smaller ones cover its entrance. And four more domes cover its corners.
